Hi, I bought a second satellite box recently. It only has sat tuners and no terrestrial one so for the moment until my usb tuner arrives I was thinking of using my old amiko alien 2 for the terrestrial channels. My question is, at the moment my satellite and saorview are coming in on one cable from the dish, they have a splitter on the end, one with a sat connection, the other a terrestrial one. If I am to connect the sat connection to one box and the terrestrial connection to another box simultaneously could this cause a power overload to the lnb or cause damage to either of the boxes?

Unlikely to cause damage but I would save myself the hassle and use the amiko until ready to fully change over.

No, the terrestrial side of the splitter doesn't (or shouldn't) pass DC power.
