Main Dealer - Payment - UK

Question / thoughts on the following:

Looking at making a purchase in the UK - main dealer.
Plan is go get an RAC check on the car. Looked at AA/RAC and Dekra and just got a warmer feeling from the RAC information (thoughts on this also welcomed?)

Payment Question - If the RAC check all works out ok, how many of you would be comfortable with making a Transfermate payment to the main dealer before you fly over to collect it.

My train of thought is as follows: If RAC checks out and the car looks as good etc.. then what would cause me to change my mind when I get over there ??

It would make it a lot cleaner if I could do the money transfer before I fly over to collect.

    Thoughts?

    Mike

Ive done big bank transfers to UK with my Revolut card. No commission and you pay the exact live exchange rates, not a reduced bank one. Only took an hour to get there too.

In short if you make payment in advance, then pretty much you've bought the car.
There won't be any backing off once you arrive.

Risk of loosing money (f.e. when main dealer goes bust in between you transfer money and pick up the car) are extremely slim so I wouldn't be worried about that.

But personally I wouldn't buy a car without seeing it first.
On the other hand, I wouldn't get RAC to inspect it for me, as I trust myself more then them, so that's probably a reason I wouldn't buy it without seeing it first.
