Install Filter inverted?

Is it Ok to install this filter inverted? I am connecting it to a firevalve with a 3/8 inch nipple and they dont line up when tightened onto the nipple.

No. It won't do its job that way. You can put it anywhere along the line. Perhaps at the tank.
