Is it legal in Ireland to listen in to an interview or view a live recording of it without the interviewee being informed?

Apart from being a bit creepy, have you a good reason to do so? In Ireland only one party needs to give consent to record a conversation but I would imagine that viewing a recording of a job interviewee would stretch that entitlement. I would suspect there would be data protection issues as the employer would probably be a registered data controller.

I was the one being interviewed, I just had a suspicion that I might have been listened in to as there were three separate interviewers.

Were the interviewers wearing blue uniforms by any chance?
