Refinishing silver plate

    Some of the silver on an old silver on copper tray has worn through (Brasso used by accident). I know there are silver solutions in the US which can be used to build up the coating again - NuSilver and Silver Secret. Are they, or anything similar, available in Ireland?

    Those homekit replating kits give very mixed results from what I have heard. Never tried them myself though.
    You can get them on ebay shipped to ireland.

    If you want to go for it then best bit of advice would be to practice on non-valuable pieces before moving on to something more valuable/sentimental.
