this issue of it actually working shouldn't be a problem but it would be useful to know what make and model you're thinking of ?

Just out of further curiousity, why are you thinking of buying from the States ? Is it an issue of availability or price that makes it attractive ? If its price you should balance it against the difficulties posed by any potential warranty issues down the line, or ease of resale if you want to upgrade in the future. If its what you really want, then try to get one which will work with 220v, even if for simplicity sake.

There are lots of options from reliable suppliers here and in the UK (and further afield in the EU if necessary) which would leave you on firmer ground.

Was looking at the lg UST projector Pf1000UW.
It's more expensive than Amazon UK, but has web os 3 and LG magic remote. The EU model available on Amazon UK has none of these features. My brother coming from US next month, so thinking to ask him to bring with him.

Well its 110/240v so you shouldnt need a stepdown transformer and it should work fine here. If those features are important to you then you have a ready made solution, no shipping or other impediments - just make sure its really well packaged, not sure how TSA are with electronics as a carry on, which would be better in terms of keeping it safe.

If you go ahead with it, would you come back and let us know how it goes ? interested to hear about the v short throw and LED performance.

    Cheers,

    Ritz.
