Repeated exams, start back before the results?

I saw (on Boards.ie) that repeat exam results are released the first week in September.
I'll start back the same week, the 4th so I could have started into second year despite not knowing if I passed my repeat exams? Is that right?

Do you go back to college as normal?

Yes, I once repeated an exam, didn't get my results until 2-3 weeks in.

That seems mad, they just assume everyone will repeat the year if they don't pass, so they have accommodation sorted regardless.

Repeat/deffered results are out 12pm tomorrow.

Your repeat/deferred exam results will always be out before classes for the new year start bar exceptional circumstances. Nothing stopping you attending classes for the following years classes.
I had repeats/deferrals for each of the years of my degree and always got the results before when I should have started the following year at least by a few days.

This is not the cast with many colleges. My classes commence on the 6th September but I do not receive my repeat results until the 14th. This has happened 3 years in a row at my college.

This is the NUIG forum and it's always been the case here unless you have to appeal a result where naturally it will be longer. And from experience it's the way things have worked in several other third level colleges I've studied in.
