Does anyone have any experience of successfully applying for a grant under TAMS 2 after the work has commenced? Basically we had been waiting for months for approval, in dire need of having the structure in place for the winter, and then were more or less encouraged by someone in the Department of Agriculture to commence the works and the approval would follow (as all documentation, planning etc was in order). So went ahead and the Department then refused the application on the basis the works had commenced before the application was approved. Anyone with any similar experience?

All ts and cs say you can't start until you get the approval letter.
We got inspected for our grant and the inspector warned us to have all invoices dated after the letter because he said we wouldn't be getting another inspection.

Any grant building shouldn't be one you need before the next winter

How did the department know you had commenced works?

Can't start work until approval is given. You got bad advice from the Dept to start work without approval.
