    Hi all, I'm hoping to set up a business shortly (selling software to businesses).

    We want it to be a .ie so we have to Register a business name, but is there any practical reason we need to register the Ltd business before we get a few sales set up?

    Sorry, first business and my memory of this from college is hazy to say the least!

    You don't need to register a ltd company to get a .ie, just a registered trading name as far as I know

    No need to register a trading name either these days.

    A quick letter ex-paining why you want the domain is usually sufficient.
