UK parking tickets on a hire car

    Anyone have experience of fighting an incorrect UK private parking ticket on a hire car.

    We were in Cornwall last month and hired through Hertz. We've just received two £60 parking tickets for parking at Fistral Beach. Its one of those where they capture your reg on CCTV going into the car park and on exit. At the ticket machine, you enter your car reg.

    We only visited the beach twice and I remember paying as on both occasions I had to take the car key fob to the machine to get the reg. Neither time did we overstay.

    Problem now is the machine tickets were left in the car, so I have no proof.

    I'm guessing I'll get caught for it, but seems a very shady practice. we used loads of other similar car parks and have had nothing from them, just the one owned by SMART par in Fistral

    Game over ... No receipt and a middle man in between with no inclination to fight it on your behalf.

    I never rely on the REG on the Key fob, it's been wrong a few times and I take a pic of the REG Plate of the car to be sure.
