Lads don't know courses on south side that well.

But looking to play a quick 9 on southside/west dublin with a few friends after 6. Traffic could be an issue. Daylight too.

They wouldn't be that serious into golf , so anything will do.

Only course I could think of was Grange Castle . If we can get out . Anything else/ideas not too serious in that area , decent, but sure to get out ?

Edmonstown is a nice course from what I remember.

Lots of choices Fix, depending on price, quality etc.

Head off the M50 at Blanchardstown or Lucan and you've got Castleknock, Hermitage, Luttrelstown, Lucan all close by.

Head off at the Red Cow and go 10 mins down the N7 and you've the likes of Slade Valley, Beech Park, Castlewarden all easily accessible. Can't imagine any difficulty in getting out on any of those.

Come off at Tallaght and go up the N81 and you'll get to Lisheen Springs. Also very easy to get to Slade and Beech Park that way too.

Next exit can get you to Edmondstown, Rathfarnham, Grange, Stackstown, Castle, Milltown.

After that you're heading towards Wicklow and looking at say Old Conna, Dun Laoghaire, Powerscourt, Carrickmines, Woodbrook and buckets more tbh.

I find this site has a pretty solid map of the courses and links to their various websites:

Elm hall might be worth a look. 9holes, should be easy enough for mates, but still have a bit of challenge for you. Just before Cellbridge, not too far from M50. Think there's a driving range close by too (couple of kilometers).

Thanks lads will use all above at some stage.

When I looked up all the courses and the travel the two lads were doing - Grange Castle was perfect. One of the lads is off a Society Hcap of 36 - so it was perfect. (lol)

We all played well - it is very open, but the greens are top of the range.

Nice to have a round you could take stuff on.

Got 13 holes in - in the end and ate a few apples from the trees on the course for dinner.

    The 36 handicap player won.

I was level on front nine - was nice , made a mess of the par 5s - off the edge on all 3 we played and made 1 bird.
