Has RTE left Tunein

Title says it all really. I can't seem to get RTE on Tunein for a few day now. Any ideas?

Just tried it there and RTE Radio 1 and 2fm both working for me.

Seem to have the full range of RTE radio content on the iOS TuneIn app.

I use a different radio app on Android and the RTE stations are on that. Having said that, I tried to listen to Radio 1 on it recently and the stream could not be found.

I couldn't get rte radio 1 yesterday morning on Tune in. Got lyric and newstalk no bother.

Gone on android since last Friday for me - still not back this morning - RTE R1

The stream started having issues sometime last week and by Thursday or Friday it was gone. When I checked yesterday it still wasn't available but seems to be back fine when I checked this morning.

The issue was with the stream itself rather than being OS related, I had the problem on both Android and internet radios.

I find this happens periodically with Radio 1, which is what I mainly listen to on TuneIn - typically lasts a day or two, then comes back.

All bar RTE Radio 1 seem to be gone again for the last few days

I have tried to access the streams on PC, Android, iPhone and Amazon Tap and not one are working but for some reason they can all pick up Radio 1

Very annoying

It is possible that RTE have changed their streams on TuneIn. Fairly sure RTE previously had TuneIn linked directly to their IceCast server. But now, they are pointing to a playlist (.m3u) file instead. This change would be nothing to do with TuneIn, they will just accept streaming URL changes from each broadcaster.

Now, this could be the issue - there is a chance that the current version of TuneIn does not actually work correctly when directed to a playlist file.

For 2fm, I can see TuneIn is trying (and failing) to stream the 2fm audio from this URL:
http://av.rasset.ie/av/live/radio/2fm

What does work however in a normal browser is the full URL including the .m3u file extension:
http://av.rasset.ie/av/live/radio/2fm.m3u

Note that the file just redirects back to their Icecast server! My guess is they prefer this method as it gives them the oppurtunity to easily insert adverts at the start of each stream.

It may be working randomly or appear to be working OK for some people - but this is only because TuneIn will likely have multiple streams for each of the RTE stations, and you could be just getting the old (direct) link.

Might be the reason Nova had a lot of problems a few months back. They now have ads each time you log on.

Today FM had too in the evenings but don't seem to anymore.
