    What the differences if any

What the advantage of doing a b and b over a tranfer and then tranfer them back

As far as I know with a B&B movement the farmer sending the cattle to the B&B operator retains legal ownership of the livestock and it's considered a temporary movement with the Dept but still counts as a movement for the factories 4 movement thingie. A farm to farm transfer would be considered a permanent movement.

AFAIK makes no difference for tax as that is basically self declaration of stock numbers etc. It is more important if the farmer feeding them sells them on you or not. The legal ownership is yours if you get me. More protection for the actual owner.

Also, with a proper B&B arrangement in the case of depopulation due to disease (TB etc) the legal owner would receive any compensation due from the Dept.
