BTEA and work

    I've had my BTEA approved pending confirmation from my college of choice and I've started applying for part time work cleaning that would amount to 11 hours per week. I know BTEA is means tested but can't find any information regarding the amount I might be allowed earn while in receipt of it. Also, while looking for information on that I came across information about the BTEA 500 euro grant but does this apply to everybody or just parents, which is what I seem to be gathering from it. Can anyone help point me in right direction?

    Are you able to apply for BTEA before you're accepted onto a course?

    In a few days time, I have an interview for a full-time course but I haven't applied for BTEA yet as I was told 6 weeks ago that I had to wait to be accepted onto the course before handing in the form, along with a letter from the college stating dates etc.

    I'm guessing so, I applied about 5 weeks ago, I've had my course acceptance letter from CAO since mid July and made my application for BTEA soon after. I received a letter from SW Monday congratulating me on being provisionally approved for BTEA. I need to get letter of confirmation from college, including start and finish dates which I can do once registration office opens this week and return to SW but as of Tuesday when I went to sign on I was informed that I've already been transferred over to that section and not on live register so to speak (so sign on wasn't required).
