    Hi just wondering i got married two weeks ago. I understand ive to register the marriage within a month. Not sure il be back within a month but if i have to i will (currently on vacation) . Can someone hand it in for me or does it have to be me? Also what happens if u don't hand it in? Do you get extra time?

    Jumping in on this. Does it have to go back to the same office where you registered intent to marry?

    Per the link I gave "It does not have to be returned to the Registrar who issued it."

    I'd be slow to post it back unless you do registered post. Similarly if you're getting someone to drop it in for you, make sure it's someone you trust and who is reliable. There was a thread on here a few years ago where someone gave it to one of their groomsmen to drop in, and the guy lost the form!
