Purchasing MacBook Pro in the US help

Couple of questions about buying a MacBook Pro in the US. I am travelling to the US on holidays in a couple of weeks. I'm intending to purchase the new high end 15 inch MacBook Pro as I will be saving almost €1000 buying in the US as opposed to buying here in Ireland. My question is will I have any problems with the power requirements as the voltage in the US is different to here in Ireland. Also I'm planning on buying an external monitor down the road in Ireland so would this have any problems connecting to the computer bought in the US in terms of power? Or any problems connecting other accessories bought in Ireland? Is it an international warranty in case there are any problems with it? Any other problems/ drawbacks to buying in the US and returning to Ireland? Some help would be greatly appreciated👍🏼

This forum is for iPhone, iPad etc. The Mac forum is here: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=108
Maybe a mod will move it for you.

No problem with the power, just use an adaptor. No problem with monitor or connections. International warranty for one year. Problem is that you have no comeback if something goes wrong after the one year. At least buying in Ireland you have consumer protection for up to 6 years for a manufacturing defect.
Don't forget to add in sales tax in the US of up to 8-9%, and 23% VAT on import.

If you go to Delaware they don't have sales tax but it might not be worth it to travel there unless you're somewhere close like NJ.

Take an old laptop bag with you and stick it in that to bring it home, get rid of the box to avoid the VAT.

Advocating criminal tax fraud, it's ok though I'll just cough up a few quid more on my motor tax to make up for it.....

Bought mine in the US. All you'll need is a US to UK/IRE plug adapter or you could buy the UK plug for about 30 quid from Apple and keep the US one as a backup.
