Car seats protection?

Ok, I have eGolf 151, exact same as any Golf really.

The issue is the seats, any sort of water or anything leaves a huge mark on them. Never happened in previous Golfs. I have used Auto Glym and it doesn't really take out the marks.

Also for whatever reason the seats/material seems to trap smells. I have been known to have the odd sneaky smoke. No longer as the car stinks for about 2 weeks afterwards, even after a good dose of Fabreeze. Never had issue before in car.

Just wondering what would people recommend? Just got a new car and they are throwin in the Supaguard for the seats so just wondering should I do Golf as well?

Other option is get valet done(70 quid) and then maybe buy Leatherette seat covers. Micksgarage has a set for the Golf. What would people recommend?

I've used gtechniq i1 on my A4 fabric Interior previously and found it great!

As for the superguard services from the dealer I'd personally stay well away as it seems its a rushed job and a waste of money.

I'd love to hear why do you find it great?

My Prius grey seats behave the same as OP's. One drop is enough to get a stain as large as a coaster!

It's a spray on fabric sealant. Which makes the seats repell water. I've applied it over the summer and the seats are still in good condition.

Gtechniq rate it as a 12- 18 month durability. Costs €20 for d&d in cork

The Golf is the same, a drop of water and huge stain. It drives me nuts

Thank you. It sounds fairly straight forward. Do you spray and leave it or spray and wipe?

Only problem is that I'd have to find a way to clean the seats before applying the sealant :D

Can I ask; did you find this price in/around Dublin?

A carpet upholstery cleaner would work wonders on the seats.

Spray on and leave for a few hours.

    Any suggestions? :)
Spray on and leave for a few hours

    And.. then wipe off?

No it's alcohol based, the liquid supposedly absorbed into the seat bonding the fibres together. The alcohol is evaporated off.

Can +1 I1, I use it a lot in D&D, for how cheap it is it's excellent! Soak the fabric in the spray, leave it sit for at least 4 hours to dry with windows/doors open as the smell can be unbearable, make sure to wear a mask with it and once it's dried out your sorted really!

I bet that product name is easy for the ones who've heard it before, but for me it's undecipherable :D Can you link it or something?

Ozone gas is very good for getting rid of smoke odours. Not to be used very regularly though as it's very aggressive, and will bleach the interior if overused.

One off to deal with an issue, you can't beat it though.

Thanks, that looks perfect, need to get full valet done and then spray this onto seats and hopefully that will work...

Priced the custom seat covers and 180 quid so this might be cheaper and better alternative
