Gob****e of the week awarded to Frankie Detorri for that fist pump in celebration on Lady Aurelia at the finish in the 3.35.

The bit where he was shushing the crowd was even worse.

Amusing the jockeys on the commentary team said all the jockeys in the weighing room would be doing fistpumps and number 1 signs as Frankie came in.

In real time I thought he won it but still, it takes a special kind of arrogance to have that finish called in your head.

WTF - Ruby Walsh riding for Qatar Racing in a hurdles race in the 7:10 at Killarney. Just watched a replay of its last race where it won easily. Only even money, so I've throw it in a double with Presenting Beara in the 7:30 at Killbeggan, a horse that has won over course and distance, has been running all Summer while dropping down the weights so should be fit as a flea.

No doubt about that, but he's still riding out of his skin, especially when you consider how old he is and how he was pretty crap for a few years before he got back to form.

    No argument there but still.

I think he knew deep down he lost and his reaction was more out of shock/disappointment.

Great race call by Richard Hoiles. He might have been doubting his own judgement after he saw Frankie's premature celebrations.
