I have half an eye on the DCM 2018.
Doing Frank Duffy at the weekend and have covered 21-22k in training from a starting point of zilch in Feb/March.
Doing a half marathon in December.

So to bridge the gap until the big one next year, It would be great to have a 15 mile event and/or 20 mile event next spring/summer to have an interim goal and transition between half marathon and full marathon

    Thanks!

Might be a bit of a stretch for me this year, but will definitely look into it for next year.
Great event by the looks of it

Netherlands regularly have 30k races in the spring that are probably a good step between (Uitslagen one of the more popular ones and I think is usually in Feb)

I'll have a look into that. seems like a reasonable aim.

It's not in Athlone anymore. It moved to Longwood in Meath last year and is now called the Irish 3/4 Marathon.

Cork to Cobh is a 15 mile race as well. That's coming up shortly.

I think there is/ was one in Killarney, might be a half marathon now.

Tralee were supposed to start a metric marathon (26.2km) but it never took off

There's a kilomarathon on in Wicklow on September 9th .

Some boards members and ex-boards members doing pacing for it. Supposed to be a good race, in aid of Wicklow Hospice.
Fionnuala McCormack Kilomarathon and 10K @ Beehive, Co Wicklow, Ireland Exit 18 off the N11.
    Sep 9 @ 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
This the second year for the Fionnuala McCormack Kilomarathon and 10K to take place and we are expecting a big crowd. We are limited to 600 participants so join up fast!! https://form.jotformeu.com/63496299290369

Both events begin and finish at the Beehive exit 18 off the N11. This event is chipped timed. Fantastic medal for all finishers and technical t shirts for the first 270 on line.

    Perfect training for Dublin Marathon.

Registration is on Friday the 8th in the Beehive from 4-8pm and on the day from 8am.
