ASTI verses TUI Pay

    Hi all,

My wife is considering making a move from a full 22 hour CID position in an ETB school to full hours in a convent school.

She gets the honours degree and dip allowance and is on point 10 on the pre 2011 payscale. She is also part of the supervision and sub. scheme in her school.

As she will be moving from a TUI to an ASTI school, were are wondering what, if any, differences there will be in pay, increments etc. The pay basic payscales seem the same but is there anything else we are missing or need to consider?

    Thanks a million.

    There's no difference in pay.

Thanks for the reply. Are there any differences with regards increments, supervision and sub payments, pensions, etc?

We just want to make an informed decision.

I'd contact her union to be sure, but there should be none.

    That's great. Thanks for that.

She called the ASTI this morning but they wouldn't talk to her because she's not a member.

ASTI members have been affected by an increment freeze and other FEMPI measures because they were outside the LRA. That has been lifted temporarily but they remain behind TUI members in increments.

This affects those who were ASTI during this the period of industrial action and FEMPI measures but should not affect your wife as a new member. But both ASTI and TUI are due to ballot on the new agreement in September and if it's rejected who knows what new FEMPI measures could be imposed.
