When is the best time of year for furniture/tiles/homeware sales for full house renovation? November? The January sales? Any hints and tips welcome!

I think any bank holiday pretty much due to sales, however we are currently looking around now and everywhere seems to have sales on!

We started renovating (full house) in January and we got a lot of stuff at a discounted price, especially tiles, floor panels and electrical appliances. Some of these appliances we bought in November (Black Friday), as we thought they would be the cheapest then and we had an option to have them delivered in late December. But it turned out that in January they were discounted to about the same price level.

So I would say the start of the year is better, as the sales are on for longer, so you have time to shop around before you make a decision, because in November there's this pressure that you have to choose there and then or it will be gone/sale will be over.

Just be careful if buying tiles in advance as if you need to get more later on the batch no. may be different & there may be variations in colour or they may be out of stock.
