Dentures

Hi all, my mother is approaching 60 and has teeth in poor condition. She's lost a good few and some of the ones she has left are loose. Basically, she wants to get rid of them and have full dentures fitted. So I'm just looking for advice on her behalf. So a few questions...

Are dentists generally willing to do this kind of work?

She said she heard of a place in Crumlin that would do all of this in one day, which sounds like nonsense to me. Is this possible?

Is any of this possible on the medical card? If not, what is a rough ball park figure to have this done?

And finally, is there anywhere in Dublin that specialises in this kind of work?

    1. Generally yes if you are a private patient, generally no if you have a medical card (laboratory fees often cost as much as the HSE pays the dentist)

    2. Full dentures start to finish in one day spells disaster.

    3. You might find a dentist to do them on Med card, but you would be very lucky indeed.

    4. Anywhere from €800 to €3000 for a full set of upper and lower dentures.

    5. Loads of specialists, they are called Prosthodontists, google is your friend.
