    Hi,
This can vary from app to app.
Your travel might affect the citizenship process as they ask for explanation if you leave the state for more than 6 weeks.
I suggest you to ask them.
There is a ceremony next October so hopefully you will be invited to it.

I applied last week :) I'm an EU national, so I'm hoping my passport comes back nice and quickly....I hope it does because I'm due to go abroad for a weekend at the end of the month!

it shouldn't take long - around the week timeframe. Good luck! :-)

Yes. This will probably reset the time required to stay in Ireland before you can qualify for citizenship.

When is the money (including lost growth) Michael Noonan took in the Pension Levy going to be paid back?

    nope

You need to be resident for 5 of the previous 9 years
To apply for citizenship by naturalisation based on residence, you must prove that you have been resident in the State for at least 5 years (1,825 or 1,826 days) out of the last 9 years
This includes 1 year (365 or 366 days) of continuous residence immediately before the date you apply.

They must have relaxed the rules when it was turned into a money making venture. Before then they were fussy and I know of a family who were denied as they would go home for a couple of months every two years.

From what I know, in INIS website they don't state that you cannot leave the state. However, they say that if you leave the state for more than 6 weeks you need to explain it; from INIS website:
"Note: The information on this page is for guidance only. Read the Irish Nationality and Citizenship Acts for a complete description of citizenship by naturalisation."

Got my passport back today :) And a letter saying they want three utility bills for two years where I rented a room in a shared house and wasn't on any utility bills, as well as three utility bills for a year I was outside the State and not asking to be taken into account for the application :/

Hy everyone, i did apply for naturalisation in july 2016.
This august '17, i've been asked to send in my passport.
Did sent it away, over a month ago, still no sign from them...
Can see that next ceremony will be held just in a month time...do i have any chance to attend on it?
To mention that i do have 2 passports, an (expired'2016-EU one) and (non EU-exp.nov.2017).
Did send in the non EU 1, explaining the situation.
Did apply as an EU citizen, living in the country since 2011...

the usually send the passport back in 6 weeks time.. and it takes at least 6 month for you to go on a ceremony.

What about yourself? When did you eventually get your letter? How long did it take?

Did anybody was able to contact them by phone?
Because every time I try to call them, my call gets canceled or the line is busy.

I have emailed them as well, sometimes they email you back and sometimes they don't.
It is just a bit frustrating.
I know that the number of applicants has increased but they really should have a Monday to Friday phone lines and increase the number of staff, I would say that they have the same number of staff for the triple amount of work. It must be very stressful for them and very frustrating for us. There are people waiting for more than a year.
