Fuel flap won't open on Mondeo 2012

    Hi all,

Went to get diesel there and when I tried to open the fuel flap, it was stuck. It opens by pushing it in and then it clicks out again.
But when I push it in, it doesn't open.
Any ideas what the problem could be? Does the flap open/close with the central locking?
Was thinking maybe a fuse gone but I don't really have a clue?
I don't want to go poking about with a knife or a screw driver for fear of doing damage to it.
But at the same time I've barely enough juice to get to a mechanic in the morning!
    Any ideas ??

You could try 'helping' it gently with a butter knife after you push it in.

Yea I'll try that when I get home. But I don't want to break something in the process.
I've a feeling maybe its a blown fuse that controls that lock, but that's a pure guess.
    Any other ideas??

It's linked to the central locking, when you lock the car the hatch locks as well

Got sorted. Turns out there's a little motor that works the locking of the fuel flap, which was faulty. So he just took the motor out. I can open and close the flap without the faulty motor now. Only difference is that when I lock the car, the flap will remain open.
It will cost about 90 euro for parts and labour to get it replaced.
