A TUE allows an athlete, for medical reasons, to take a prescribed substance or have treatment that is otherwise prohibited.

However, this is obviously open to abuse for performance enhancing, and anyone with their eyes open will at the very least be skeptical.

Hackers called the Fancy Bears have revealed that Tevez, Heinze and Kuyt were among 25 players allowed to use banned medicines during the 2010 World Cup.

In addition, they have revealed that 160 players failed drug tests in 2015 alone, with 4 failed tests registered in the UK. In 2016 this number increased to 200 overall.

Interesting, and almost certainly just the tip of a very large iceberg in football.

Saw this pop up on my news feed. A lot of big names there and potential cover ups by FIFA.
A load of Mexican players on steroids according to what was released.

It's amazing how many top level athletes seem to have asthma.

It was only a matter of time before soccer was shown up to be riddled with drugs.

We all knew it had to be. Its a billion pound industry, where there is money to be made, there with always be PEDs.

I hope the hackers continue to supply plenty of fresh info.

Particularly from those players right around the fringes. The guys fighting for contracts. For them, taking a chance on something to give them that extra bit of stamina to work harder in training/matches could be the difference between securing 3 or 4 more years at a championship club, and having to head off to ply their trade in India or something.

I'd say there's plenty of big names on the PEDs too, I have no doubt about that.

Whether or not there is any paper trail on them remains to be seen.

First in with the tired worn out head in the sand reaction of "it doesn't help you kick a ball better, or improve your ball control"

All four failed tests in the UK were for recreational drugs (cocaine & ecstasy) .

Seems like there's two stories here being rolled into one.

That logic always drives me mad!

It mightn't up your skill levels, but it may help you run that extra km over the course of a game, or get to a ball quicker than an opponent.

No problem, but is there anything in the title in particular you want fixed?
