They have made privacy policy change which disallowed you from opting out of sending your data to them. Users of plex are now looking to move to Emby instead.

Plex changes its new privacy policy after backlash, clarified it’s not trying to see what’s in your library

Bought a lifetime sub for this earlier this year. Can stream my entire media library (music, tv box sets, movies) anywhere in the world and share it with family and friends. Takes a bit of getting used to, so the free three months is a great way to get to learn all it can do. The free account is fine too if you're only using it on your home network. Found it better than Emby, which is the only comparable alternative.

I have a lifetime sub too but I'm having trouble seeing my files outside my home network. Think it might be my crappy virgin router.

Look up dslite on virgin hub3. You need to request that it is turned off on your account. You can do it by requesting it over on Virgin Media forum, pm the VM staff. That should allow you to set up an ipv4 port forward and get it working again. I meant to do up a guide on this, just did it recently.
