Compact Camera Fujifilm X100F to buy

    I am planning on buying a compact camera Fujifilm X100F, just wondering if anybody out there has one and what your views are on it.

    Also is there any other compact camera you would consider too.

    I like photography and want it mainly to have great quality for family events, for community functions, and somewhat in my job at school so for functions, events, sports etc

    If you have the money I wholeheartedly recommend it. It's simply a fantastic little camera. The 23mm focal length is very versatile. The leaf shutter is super silent. AF is as good as what you get in a mid/high end DSLR (not going to beat the top end Nikon or Canon bodies though). The sensor is a beaut (same as the one on the X-T2 and X-Pro2). I personally love the physical dials.

    A couple of very minor gripes/learnings from using it...

    - The lens is a bit soft wide open. It is not super sharp up close (like say the 23mm F1.4 would be). This occasionally bugs me ever so slightly but everything else about the camera's handling makes it up for me.
    - For me the D-pad is positioned slightly awkwardly and I've accidentally hit the right button a couple of times (at one point it was set to the ND filter... didn't realise for ages).
    - 1 SD slot. I've been used to dual slots but this was something I sacrificed in getting the X100F.
    - At f2, the mechanical shutter speed is limited to 1/1000s. It's not a big deal as I can just drop down to f2.8 to get faster speeds, or use the ND filter, or use the electronic shutter... but you need to be conscious of it on bright days.

    i have one as well and I love it. I haven't noticed the drop in sharpness at wider apertures - I'm only an enthusiast. I bought it as the camera for all family stuff etc. Even in auto mode it takes great pictures, I'm really happy with it and would highly recommend one.
