Is it legal to bring poppy seeds through an airplane to ireland? I'm a baker and i'm currently abroad, and i have found really good poppy seeds which i could use in my bakery (these seeds can sprout i think). Is it legal to bring them in an airplane?

Where are you? if its within the EU you're fine.

if Outside the EU - seeds are less restricted than plants but what would happen at an airport if you declared them is another matter.

Don’t pass through Dubai, Abu Dhabi etc unless you fancy 4 years in jail

You can buy poppy seeds freely in Ireland, or you can just get them for free from a friend who has poppies in the garden.

There are quarantine restrictions on the import of animal and plant material from outside the EU, but I'm afraid I have no idea of the details. If you particularly fancy the poppy seeds that you are seeing abroad, buy some and the declare them when you're coming home through Dublin. At worst, they'll be taken from you and destroyed, and you'll be out the cost of the poppy seeds, which presumably is a trivial sum.
