What breed of dog is this?

    I know its not a short haired collie. I think it had some sort of french name when i took the photo. Any help appreciated.

    Looks like a classic Irish collie cross. No specific breeds are calling out to me. Is this dog's background completely unknown?

    It was a while back and the lady owner said it was a particular breed which I cannot remember. I had the doppleganger of a dog growing up (even down to that scar like colouration on the nose) and always thought it was a collie but she was adamant that it wasn't...
