surprisingly the aftermath of tragedies, seeing people rally around and support each other shows the best we can be.

not the worst of the worst but being on the road - the aggression and impatience of drivers towards each other.

I think soccer can be a bit of both.

You see the great things the game can bring but there's element of nastiness that you see in the crowds at some matches

theres nothing quite like soccer to both bring people together and tear them apart. but for the most part, aside from hooliganism, its a positive.

Religion. There's people who practice their chosen religion in peace and those who think if they bomb not only themselves up but bring innocent people with them for imaginary virgins in heaven. Religion is the main one that brings out the best and worst in people. Money is a close second.

I think you don't really know a person well until you borrow or lend money or enter into a venture together where both of your money's at stake , basically any situation with finances . People you thought were nice can get so nasty .

Road rage: You can really see the worst in some people when they lose it behind the wheel.
Imagine someone walking down the high street and accidentally steps in front of someone else then the other person responds by following them down the street shouting and swearing at them. Sure the guards would probably be called.

Another I could think of is the internet, some people who would seem quiet and quite placid normally can turn into very nasty people while posting on online forums.

Difficulties in bodies of water. True heroes hear a bleep from their waistline or dive into action.

    Natural disasters.

Some people do everything they can to help people.

Some people use it as an excuse to loot.

The near-masturbatory glee of some posters on here whenever there's a terrorist incident is sickening.

Airplanes. Especially budget airplanes like Ryanair, Easyjet etc. I'm surprised more people don't get murdered on those kinds of flights, they bring out the asshole in everyone.
