In a mess with two recruitment agencies, need advice please!

    Hello all,
I got myself into a bit of a mess while job hunting and would appreciate some advice. I am currently on a 6 month contract found for me by ‘Agency A’. I’m half way through it and looking for something else (the place is toxic). I was approached with a new opportunity by ‘Agency B’.
I was called up by Agency A and was completely honest - I told them I was looking for something else and they offered me the exact same opportunity. I told them no thanks - I’m worried that they will try and keep me in the current contract they set me up in for as long as possible before setting me up with something else.
The problem is that Agency B isn't that great - I might have a better chance if I go with Agency A, plus the recruiter is really good at his job - but I just can't see them moving things along quickly and risking their relationship with the place I am in at the moment. They might delay the process and allow the interviews to drag on for as long as possible, which could cost me the new job.
The other possibility is that they actually don't care - and just want to move me along to another contract and make more money from a different client.
I’m away from Ireland at the moment (in the UK) and just a bit lost here - I really don't know what to do. I'm a bit desperate to get out of the place I'm in as well, which adds to the confusion.
Am I completely overthinking this or am I right to be worried?
    Thanks

Having dealt with them many times in the past, I would recommend running a mile from those vultures, I've had nothing but bad experiences with them.

Do you have any other options for finding work other than those two agencies?

You're mistake was being honest with Agency A, never give out any information unless it serves you a purpose. Telling them you're looking for another job only weakens your position.

Get into bed with as many agencies as possible. You're just a prostitute of the labor market at the end of the day and the recruiter a slimeball pimp. You're aim should be to maximise your per hour rate while having a little fun at the same time. May as well find the best deal possible.

Your making the mistake of thinking they are doing it for you. You need to think about yourself. Do what's best for your career. There's job is commission based.
