Ive to get a set ( 4 ) 205 55 R16 tyres for a car that I seem to have become responsible for.

Its a Daysul of the Bangernomics class and is by no means a high speed bus.

Notwithstanding, I wouldn't want to be found buying rubbish and do want to buy from whoever is going to fit them.

    Was thinking Hankook or better.

Its based in the North East but anywhere from Dublin to Belfast and say 50 miles inland would be in the frame for retailer location.

What would you buy & where ?

Is there value in NI with the exch better than 90p to the Euro ?

That size is probably one of the most common tyre sizes on the roads these days so there should be very competitive pricing from bricks and mortar tyre retailers. Hankook are a good mid range brand so you cannot go wrong, my father has them in that size on this Auris, he paid about €70/€75 a corner for them. I've also seen places advertising Goodyears in that size for not much more so shop around is the advice.

Would Goodyears be / be considered better than Michelin ?

Firestone TZ 300 I've found very good for the last few years .

You should be able to find Aotelis or Apluses for less than €45 a corner if you shop around, and certainly not rubbish and great value.

Same premium level. Dunlop, Michelin, Goodyear, Pirelli, Bridgestone and Continental are considered equally good. Some include Nokian and Yokohama to the premium too.

Goodyear and Michelin are both premium brands, both offer various models of tyres so it would depend on which model of Goodyear and Michelin you are talking about.
