I've been offered a part time second job it's basically helping out an aunt in her shop for an hour or 2 a day but she wants me to declare it for tax purposes,is there a legal loophole around this as I don't think once I pay tax it would be worth it to me.i have a main job as well and wondering would the tax bracket I'm in be affected by this

What tax bracket are you in now, and,if you are on the lower rate, what do you earn?

All taxable income has to be declared. There is no way around this. If you are already taxed at the higher rate, you will be taxed 40% PAYE, 5 or 8% USC and 4% PRSI.

It'd be the same as doing overtime in your current company. If you are already on the highest bracket or close to it the government will make more than you. Which is why I never do OT.

Yes, taxed at higher rate then. And to be honest for an hour or two a week, I'd nearly do it for free rather than go through the overhead pain of setting you up and administering the tax. Can you get paid in cake?

It's taxable when she takes it out of the company.
