Virgin Media Ireland is introducing short term contracts covering just a 30-day span.

Paul Farrell, Vice President Virgin Media said: “The traditional TV and broadband packages are no longer working for millennials which is why at Virgin Media we’ve ripped up the rulebook when it comes to contracts with the launch of our new no strings attached 30 day broadband and TV offer.”

“Not everyone can, or wants to be tied down with long term contract for their broadband and TV service which is why we’ve designed this flexible offer specifically to meet the streaming and content needs of the ‘on-demand’ generation”.

Did they not introduce these some years ago and this is just a relaunch?

May have been BB only; but I know people who had 30 day contracts in student rentals.

The fact that they don't see any value in the analogue TV and don't actually disconnect drops under normal circumstances makes this practical now - DSL providers, Sky and the IPTV providers have had no reason not to offer this for ages due to not having the same network issues.

€20/month is awful value. Most of the channels offered are FTA. Even the Sky channels don't include Sky Atlantic - so no Game of Thrones etc. Better options out there.

Sky will not let anyone else have Sky Atlantic, so if that's a deal breaker your only options are either Sky satellite or Now TV.

The type of people this is aimed at are the exact people for whom satellite of any type (Freesat, Sky, or anything else) is just not an option.
