Wrist instability

Hi there, I'm 23 years ok and had an accident at work last year, it was a fall which has now left me with wrist instability and possible ulnar nerve compression. At the time I was in a lot of pain from bruising sustained in the accident. Over the next few weeks the pain worsened in my wrist. After attending A&E three times and seeing two doctors in the space of a month and a half I was sent on for physio. Ultimately the physio worsened my wrist pain and was then told by another doctor to stop with the physio. What could and should have been done to stop me developing the wrist instability or has anyone had the same problem ? Thanks
