Credit union travel loan

I am moving to Australia on a 1 year working visa and want to take out a loan from the credit union to cover some of the cost. Will they allow a loan if I'm moving abroad though? Will they need a guarantor? And how soon will they require repayments? Many thanks.

Repayments will start straight away, and depend on the frequency; at least weekly, at most monthly
