Just doing a little research and can't find out much in relation to what dealers have been running the longest in Dublin.

Would anyone have any links to where I could source this kind of information?
Or would people be willing to impart their knowledge and list off who they know have been long standing car dealers in the second hand market only.

Pat Barron in Terenure must be around a long time.

Bill Griffin has been around for 30 odd years apparently. I imagine they're one of the longest running. A lot of places have been car dealers for a long time but have changed names.

I think Bolands in Clondalkin has been around a long time too.

Bolands (Opel) in Clondalkin have been around since 1955

Isn't Linders supposed to be one of the oldest in Dublin? I believe Kelly's in Waterford is one of the oldest in the country.

    What is this research for?

Are you in the market for a care and believe longest running equal best?

    No nothing like that.
It's a form of business research for an idea I have, nothing exciting.

Harmonstown Motors also going since 1984. They sell Ford now but are very much a small franchise and have a dedicated used car lot.

That business went tits up in 2011 to early 2013, and was eventually wound up by the liquidators in 2015. Roughly ~14 years trading.

C&G motors first (bankrupt), then G&C motors (bankrupt again) then Harmonstown Motors. All times the same owners.

When did C&G go into business?

If the op means "second hand" as in not having a brand to sell new, then Winton Motors in Churchtown is there well over 30 years - I got my first car there (datsun cherry) and they are still there and still have a great name
