Wireless headphones losing connection

    Hi,

I have a cheap pair of wireless headphones (€25). I wanted to get a cheap pair first to see how I got on with them.

When I use them outside in the garden, and I leave my phone inside sitting on the window sill, I lose connection - specifically when I turn my head so that the side with the controls is facing away from the house/phone. I'm well within the range specified.

Is this something that happens with wireless headphones, or is it because I've a cheap pair?

    Thanks

Can happen with more expensive one's too. Also, it's not just the bluetooth signal on the earphone's. The bluetooth signal on the phone is also a factor.

Yup. The strength of the signal falls off in proportion to the square of the distance between the headphones and the device, so as you get even half-way towards the advertised range variable circumstance (like which way things are aligned, what electromagnetic barriers and/or distortions are around, etc, etc) become more and more significant. So "works up to 25 metres" really means "sporting chance that it works up to 25 metres (and even a fair bit beyond!) in reasonably favourable circumstances, but don't bank on it".

That's really interesting. Maybe wireless are not the way for me, as I want them for gardening and don't really want the phone on me.

Thanks a mil for the replies, they're really helpful :)
