Led car bulbs

I'm not very good at understanding different outputs for different car bulbs, but I own a 2007 MK5 Golf, and I ordered new LED bulbs for my front fogs. The standard output for the fogs is 55W. The LED's I have ordered say 25W, so I thought these would be safe to fit, as they don't exceed anything, but I'm after seeing online that a 25W LED is the same as a 150W standard bulb. Is this true? Would these bulbs be safe to fit?, or should I try find LED's with a power rating of 5W, or 7.5W? Any help appreciated

LETs don't give off nearly as much heat as a bulb, also being 25w they won't put the wiring under any pressure. You might be disappointed with the light output if you're concerned about that.

One thing to bear in mind with leds is to check if they have canbus on them. Or else you will need load resistors to keep them in sync.

OEM LEDS give out a far greater light than halogen, and are closer to real light.

However, while OEM LED bulbs don't use much energy the housing mechanism does get quite hot. Now, not sure if what you are installing is the same thing.

I presume you're not simply bolting in LED bulbs into a regular bulb socket.

Does anyone know the relationship between legacy wattage bulbs and their equivalent LED bulbs?
Is there a direct relationship between LED wattage and conventional wattage, say, for instance, a multiple of 7.3?
I have a 5.5W LED of 470 Lumens (2700 Kelvin) output, which, it is claimed, is equivalent to a normal 40W conventional bulb which is also claimed to use 80% less energy compared to a standard 40W light bulb.
Also a previous post states that they run hotter than a filament bulb - this seems counter intuitive as they operate without a glowing filament and use less energy.

In the OEM LED the bulb doesn't get hot but the housing. And an OEM LED would be more like 6k+ Kelvin

Where else would you put them???? If you are replacing a standard halogen bulb with an LED bulb you just fit them into the regular bulb holder.

Not sure their comparable with OEM LED's so. OEM LED's have a special housing that allow them to get up to approx 6k kelvin.

Maybe these are less bright LED's?!?

Safe to say an 07 Golf doesn't have LED fog lights from factory.
