Private ultrasound

I need to have an ultrasound as I've been experiencing pelvic pain. My doctor has given me a referral to a private clinic at my request as I'd like to be seen quickly and I'm lucky in that I can afford a private scan.

However, I couldn't afford to pay for surgery privately if the need arises - if I have a private ultrasound and the result is that I need surgery am I allowed to go public for same?

    Thanks.

    Straight answer is yes
If you get the ultrasound privately you can still go public if you need surgery
