I set out to buy a Hilux to replace my Navara but having now driven a few alternatives for comparison, I am very impressed by the Amarok. Anyone any experiences (good or bad) with these?

    Something something underpowered something...

They are a fairly hardy jeep, they don't give a lot of bother at all, surprisingly. What year are you looking at?

I was looking at a 2014+ in High Line, and probably the auto as the 8 speed box was very smooth. In fact the couple I drove were very impressive and made the 2015 Hilux seem like a tractor.

There are lots of reviews from South Africa and Australia, they sing their praises and ability to tow. I had read the honest john one already and a few other UK ones too. It was tow car of the year in the UK for 12+13 I think so I am not worried about that side of it, just interested in what they are like reliability wise etc. first hand from owners.
