Long time lurker first time poster here. Story time!!! I'm originally from Philippines, 28 years of age. Few days ago its going really tough for me, I was very upset crying then mum came to me and had a chat. She asked me "whats wrong?", I said "nothing", then she said "whatever it is you can talk to me, it's better let it out than letting it build inside you." I was feeling scared at this point as I really dont know how to say it, but still did. "Mum I'm gay" she then came to me and gave me a hug she then cried and said "Its ok hun, I accepted you. You are my son and its not gonna change anything I love you so much and I fully support you 100% percent. I probably accepted you before you accepted yourself" My mum called my sister and my younger brother and they were also very supportive. My sis was like "how long you've been keeping this? It must've been difficult" I said "long time" she was like "you are my brother and its ok its not gonna change anything I love you, (jokingly said) can you now do my make up?" My brother hugged me and said "I love you bro, Im proud of you no matter what"

After that my mum and sis talk to me about relationship and sex. They want me to meet someone that will make me happy. They just want me to be careful with sexual encounters and stuffs. (I jokingly said) "I hate sex" My mum laugh and she was like "what? its normal just be careful of hiv/std always protect yourself." I was like "I'm joking and yes guys i'll be careful I love you all so much"

P.S I haven't got gay mates and stuffs I'm just wondering if theres any good place to meet some?

Firstly congratulations, it's always nice to see a happy story :)

Whereabouts in the country are you based? It might be trickier to meet someone outside Dublin or the major cities but were doing better and better as time goes on.

As for online Gaire.ie is not bad as places go, nice active community and a classifieds section too.

Thank you! She is! Me and mum are now even closer. I can talk to potential dates over the phone even she's beside me lol without any bother. Everytime we are watching something and she see some good looking guy on program she'll be like "Do you find him good looking? I think he is" lol
