Anyone have any idea if the Humax FVP400T will record Saorview channels ?  I know the series link won't work (nice one 2RN !), but I'm afraid I have no faith in the Walker products, and need a replacement PVR. Saorview recording is a priority, and any machine that can't/won't do this is ruled out.  Anybody out there still using the old HDR Fox T2 for this?  Mine faild to store the irish channels in the tuner, some months ago and seems to be unrepairable.  I would consider a refurbed one of those if I thought that it would work.

I just bought the Humax in Tesco. You can get all the freeview channels plus all Irish channels. After a bit of time I worked out a problem with external recordings to a usb stick drive. When you copy to a external drive it does not show on the humax box. You will only see recordings when you plug it into the PC or TV usb port. And it works very well. If you have a decent reception from the UK everything will work OK. I live in Wexford Town.

Great to confirm this.  Now considering the newer FVP 5000t.  Reggae Man when you say you put recordings on to an external USB drive, did you have to reformat for the Humax or will it copy / record on to a standard FAT32 formatted drive.  Though I suppose there'll be the file size limitation with FAT32, so only SD transfers then ?

My one working away still. Wont do series link for Saorview but stores the channels ok (in the 800s). I hadn't been using it for a long time, but dug it out again there recently for recording Match of the Day. I'm near the border (on southern side) so pick up a decent signal from Divis.
