I've an 04 Audi A4 115bhp , it's out of test next month and out of tax.

Wondering what it's worth as is and what it'd be worth with test ?

I'd say it'll need a few pound put into it for the test , so wondering if it's worth my while

Have a look at similar cars on dondeal. Problem is there alot of them for sale so a buyer can be fussy to rule out ones without a NCT or with needing money spent on them. Another problem is their reputation with insurance companies as being a popular choice with boy racers which means they may come with a loading. Then you are talking about a nearly 14 year old car being difficult to insure for a potential buyer.

I'd say about €1500-€1800 in good nick with a fresh test and below 1k without.

I reckon around €800 as is and €1500 with new test. Depends on how clean it is and the mileage. It might be worth a bit more if it's low mileage and tidy.

What spec is it and what mileage is on it? A base model with high mileage will be difficult to sell.

Cheers for replies , Its just a standard model I think with few scratches and dings.

Think il put it through the test and see how it gets on

You'll have to tax it in order to put it thru the nct I assume?
That and the cost of the fixes required to pass may well negate any difference in the amount you get selling it with/without test & tax.
Might be worth selling as is in that case.

You don't need the car to be taxed to do the NCT. However it would need to be taxed to drive to and from the NCT centre.

It will make it easier to sell even without a NCT though if you have a fail sheet to show a potential buyer what it needs to pass otherwise your expecting a buyer is just taking a big punt with their money. I'd stick it through the NCT and make a decision after that.

does it have to be taxed to get nct or not ? Because i owe back tax on mine so wouldn't be worth it if I've to tax it.

Ya I might just put it through the test and sell it with the fail sheet

You don't need tax for the NCT it can even be declared of the road once you have proof that you are on the way to the NCT centre.

It doesn't need to be taxed to do the test but you need tax to drive it to and from the test centre though.

You can online anyway, don't know about in the motor tax office as I haven't stepped foot inside one in over 10 years.

Hi guys looking for similar advice. Mine is a 05 A4 tested till May 18, taxed till Sept. 266km 1.9tdi. Body in very good condition. Base model, front electrics only remote locking that's all the gizmos. Any thoughts on its value?

Will be a hard sell at 266kms unfortunately. Base model, rear manual windows not good. NCT to May is good and diesel is probably good. Good condition body is a plus.

But still, a terrible hard sell. I'm guessing 1500 would be a great result for you.

Thanks for the response, thought so myself. The figure isn't hugely below what I would be happy with.
