How to pay LPT after expiry of three-year post-purchase exemption

Although was exempt from paying LPT for three years from when I formally purchased our new house in May 2014, me and my wife must have become liable for paying LPT effective mid-May last year.

Problem is, despite their asking for and being advised by my solicitor that I was not yet liable for LPT in Feb 15, I have not heard from IRD re LPT since.

Having forgotten all about LPT until last week, I sent an email to the IRD re payment. To date, I have not heard anything back about the
procedure involved in paying the tax.

My question is, should I await a formal bill from them or go onto the LPT website and sort the payment out there?

Thanks in advance for your help

Did you ring the LPT helpline? They were surprisingly efficient and helpful. I even got a call back.

I think you need to register on the LPT site to get a property ID.

I could be wrong but I think your actually meant to do that when you purchase the house and claim your exemption that way.

Sorry to go slightly off topic here.
I purchased a house in oct 2013 and got a three year exemption from paying LPT.
Heard nothing since so decided to go to the revenue website to pay it.
It says I am still exempt till 2019 provided:-

    I purchased in 2013...I did.
I occupy the property as my sole residence...I do.

    Anyone been in this situation..?

"Properties purchased in 2013 are exempt until the end of 2019 if used as your sole or main residence. If the property is subsequently sold or ceases to be your main residence between 2013 and 2019, the exemption no longer applies.

New and previously unused properties purchased from a builder or developer between 1 January 2013 and 31 October 2019 are exempt until the end of 2019 (even if sold again in that period).
