2 weeks to test - enough time to improve?

I had to apply for my test way before I was ready as I needed to renew my learners permit. I delayed the test twice, so I have to take it this time. I started lessons about 9 months ago - did the 12 and took a break (no driving at all). I left it very late to start practicing for the test - only 3 weeks ago, but I have driven every day and can't believe how much I have improved. I was feeling pretty confident, but had a practice test yesterday and ended up with 10 grade 2's and 4 grade 3's(2 for position turning left and 2 for mirrors when changing lanes) :(

Is there any hope of me improving enough over the next two weeks? I am driving any chance I get and have booked 4 lessons.

I guess I am just looking for peoples experiences - is it somewhat normal to be getting that many faults this close to the test? Anyone ever improve that quickly?

Yes! Of course there is. Keep going, work on those areas that you failed on in your mock test and try your best. You still have plenty of time, and sure at this point you may as well just go for it.

Use those errors as something to work on. 2 weeks is a lot of time to become more active in concentrating on those, but don't leave other things you were fine on for granted.

That's definitely enough time to improve - 2 weeks with focus and concentration is better than 2 months of very casual and occasional driving where you're not striving to improve. Where are you based? I'd advise scheduling in another pre-test or two to see how you're getting on.

Also, remember that you might have been marked for longer than you will be in the test. In pre tests I've been marked for the entire 2 hours - that's loads of time to clock up grade 2's, whereas in the test they only mark your driving for about 25 minutes. In the last half hour of my last pre test I did a really shocking reverse around the corner and was all over the place - but being under test scrutiny for a full 2 hours leaves you really tired and you will start to mess up. In normally driving conditions (where you're not doing manoeuvres every 2 minutes) you don't get nearly that tired and flustered after 2 hours. Pre tests are supposed to be extra hard.

In case anyone finds this thread and is in the same situation I was in a few weeks ago - I ended up passing with 2 grade 2's!!!!

I ended up driving every single day for around 3 hours in the two weeks before the test and took more pre-tests (all of which I failed!)
