beef type heifer around 6 months noticed swollen hind quarter this morning. ive stripped quarter to remove clots and gave some betamox hoping to hopefully reduce infection. any one any experience of this in an animal so young? never heard of it before. what I did notice was some of the bull calves sucking each other similar ot cow and calf. so possible they are sucking each other? any suggestions welcome

More than likely other calves sucking her. Stockholm tar might stop them.

Sam, thanks very much for reply
I've given her antibiotic, stripped the quarter today again but nothing coming out, very hard yet. put udder mint round her and then done the group with Stockholm tar. also have anti suck rings at the ready if needs be. torture
