    Hi there

I will soon be working in UCD and I'll be driving daily from Kilcullen. I can work 9-5 or 9.30 to 5.30 (hours may be more flexible once I start). Just wondering what's the current view on journey time and what choice for working hours would be best?

    Thanks a million.

Might be better off driving to Naas and getting the 126 and then a 46a/145. Do you have parking in UCD?

    Hi,
I did consider this but at the moment I wouldn't catch the 5pm return bus to Naas (about a 10 min walk from my new office to the bus stop). So I would have to try catch another 126 in town, which I could if it was quicker.

I do have parking in UCD and a diesel car so I was hoping that driving wouldn't be too bad but maybe it's gonna be worse than I think!

You could drive to Sallins & Naas station and get the Phoenix Park Tunnel service to GCD and Dart to Sydney Parade and get the UCD shuttle. The train is about 60 min to Sydney Parade and is within the Short Hop fare. The 7:28 train will get you to UCD for 9 am. No idea on the UCD shuttle fares or frequency, but the 47 bus might also work but it is not frequent. You could also walk it.

If you can avoid driving into Dublin at all I would. Especially if you will be on the M7 thankfully I never had to take it but it always seems to be experiencing huge delays.
The M7 really needs the equivalent of the M3 parkway its a great job.

Would you consider getting a train to Heuston, then taking a short walk to Infirmary Road where you can catch the 46a out to UCD?

Just a suggestion. It's a bit of a trek though!

Why do that when the 145 goes from directly outside the station to the same stop at the UCD flyover as the 46a?
