Bit of an off the wall request, we would like to leave a car for 2 nights around Tobercurry Co Sligo whilst we holiday in Lough Key.

Any suggestions for somewhere "safe"? Thanks.

Literally anywhere and it should be fine. If i had to suggest somewhere specific there's generally plenty of parking round the kings inn and the health centre, could ask there if they'd mind ya parking up for a day or two.

Someone actually from tubber might be able to guide ya better but in general small towns and villages in the West of Ireland aren't exactly unsafe so I'd not expend much energy thinking about it.

if it's a standard car rather than a Ferrari or similar I'd say you could just park it up in the street

Hi John, Best advise I can give is park on the street around the square or near the supervalu.
Thats where I always parked and never had any bother there as the vehicle will be visible and the guards are fairly active around the town at night.

I haven't been in Tobercurry for a while but I live in a small town in the west of Ireland although bigger than Tobercurry we have paid parking in the town with a very active parking warden so watch out if there is paid parking in the town. You don't want to come back to the car with a load of tickets. Also just to add your car will be very safe in the town nothing to worry about regarding getting broken into or anything but that goes without saying do not leave dashcam or laptop bag or other bags visible in car as you are always going to get an opportunist.

    There is no paid parking.
As long as the op parks in a well lit area he will be grand.
There is possibility of break ins in tubbercurry. It happened my van in may but I was in a very quiet car park at the back of a pub.

I'd still feel safe leaving a car parked in Tobercurry for 2 days.

Yes as would I just on the street where everyone can see it now. I have parked on the street many weekends since with no issue whatsoever

It is a Mazda soft top so might get more attention than average...

I'd suggest Leitrim, no one ever goes there and it'll be fine. Just leave it inside the gate and close the gate on the way out.
