My friend came back from America with a new phone still wrapped unopened,but its pay as you go but the network is simple mobile can I get it unlocked before I open it or what can I do,is it useless

how would you get it unlocked before you open it out of interest?

Bring it to one of those chinese shops or buy an unlock code on Ebay. are you even sure its network locked?

It was bought in the us ,I just don't know will I open it ,how much would it cost it's an iPhone se

Look, open the box, see if the phone is even network locked. This chat could be for nothing if it's already unlocked.

Its quite likely that the first SIM inserted will be the network it locks to.

This is absolute nonsense, ignore this. SIM cards do not lock iPhones to networks. If it’s locked to Simple Mobile you’ll need a sim from them to activate the phone first.

Simple Mobile are owned by Tracfone, ask a Tracfone unlocker on eBay if they can unlock it for you.

Happened to me on an unlocked iPhone 5s bought directly from Apple.

Go have a google. They do in the US. Apple are the only ones to do it.

It's not nonsence, all iphones that Carphone warehouse are supplied with are locked to the first sim you put in it in the UK.
